Haj Committee of India
Allotted through the Haj Committee, with its own application window and its own timeline. Usually the lower cost of the two.
Through licensed operators
Allotted to registered private tour operators. More flexibility on hotels, category and dates, at a higher rate.

The rites
Hajj is not a long Umrah. It is a fixed sequence across specific days in specific places, and knowing the order in advance is most of the preparation.
8 Dhul Hijjah
Ihram from your hotel, then to Mina for the night. Five prayers there, no rituals beyond that.
9 Dhul Hijjah
The day of Arafat, standing from noon until sunset. Then to Muzdalifah after Maghrib, and the night in the open.
10 Dhul Hijjah
Stoning of the Jamarat al-Aqabah, sacrifice, head shaved or trimmed, then tawaf al-ifadah.
11–12 Dhul Hijjah
Stoning all three pillars each afternoon. Leave before sunset on the 12th, or stay for the 13th.
After
Tawaf al-wada before you leave Makkah, and for most groups a stay in Madinah either side.

Both routes have windows that close. The Committee's opens on its own schedule; private quota fills. Register interest and we will tell you when yours opens.
Passport, photographs, vaccination and the forms for whichever route you take. We check everything before it is filed.
Once allotted, we confirm the category, the hotels and the Mina tent, and the balance schedule in writing.
Hajj has five days of rites in a fixed order. You get the free training session before you fly, not a leaflet at the airport.
Before you fly
The allowance is the airline's, not ours, and it is the thing most often got wrong on the morning of the flight.
Baggage
Read this before you pack. The 30 kg is per head, not per family. Two bags of 15 kg is the split the airline expects; one heavy bag gets refused or charged even when the total is under the limit.
Paying, and cancelling
Not pleasant reading, and printed here anyway. These are the same terms that are on your receipt.
Step 1 · To confirm the booking
20–30% of the tour amount
Paid up front. This is what secures your seat and lets us start the formalities: filing the visa, issuing the ticket and confirming the hotel.
Step 2 · The balance
70–80% of the tour amount
Paid later, before departure. We tell you the date in writing when the booking is confirmed, so it is never a surprise.
What a cancellation costs depends on how far the booking has gone. Before any formalities have started there is very little to recover, so very little is lost. Once the visa has been filed, the ticket issued or the hotel confirmed, that money has already left this office and the airline and the hotel do not refund us either.

The government fee and the processing charge are spent once the application goes in.
Ticket issued
Airline cancellation rules apply from the moment the ticket is issued, and they are the airline's, not ours.
Hotel confirmed
Ramadan and Hajj-season rooms are usually non-refundable from the day they are held.
Tell us where your booking stands and we will give you the actual figure in writing, with the airline and hotel charges itemised. We do not guess at it.
